About the Author

Colin Jarman is a sailor, a writer and a photographer. He has sailed for 40 years and is the author of nine books on various aspects of sailing and seamanship, of which two on ropes and ropeworking have been top sellers. He has been a staff writer on Motor Boat and Yachting magazine and was Features Editor on Yachting Monthly before freelancing for the world's major boating magazines.
